A handwritten card that meant a lotIn a world of emails, online forms and automated order confirmations, receiving a handwritten card in the post feels a little different and special. This week, I received a lovely card in the post to our Keenagh Office. It had a hand-painted sunflower on the front and a personal message inside which read: To Carmel, Many thanks for all your help with the machine. Hope all good with you and family. Best Wishes... I had helped with the machine and, like so many of the customers I deal with, it was more than simply arranging an order. There were questions to answer, details to sort out and things to organise along the way. That is a normal part of my job, but it is always nice to know that the help is appreciated. It is about more than the machine
When someone buys a machine for their workshop, it is a big investment. It is not simply a piece of equipment arriving on a lorry. The machine has a job to do and, ultimately, it needs to earn its keep. That is why I think the personal side of our business is so important. When customers contact Kenequip, they speak to real people who know the business and understand that every workshop is different. We take the time to listen, answer questions, help source parts, organise deliveries and keep things moving when there is a problem to sort out. Sometimes it is a straightforward phone call. Sometimes it involves tracking down a part or making several calls to get something organised. Whatever is needed, we do our best to help. Building relationships across Ireland Over the past 30 years, I have spoken to customers from workshops and businesses right across Ireland. Many of them have been dealing with Kenequip for many years before that, and some have become regular customers and people we know well. That is one of the things I enjoy most about my job. We may sell machine tools, but the relationships we build with customers are just as important. A customer might first contact us looking for a lathe or milling machine, and years later they may be back looking for another machine, a spare part or help with a problem. Receiving a handwritten card like this is a lovely reminder of why that personal approach matters. It would have been easy to send a quick email saying thank you, but someone took the time to choose a card, write a message and put it in the post. I really appreciated that. At Kenequip, we are proud to help workshops, fabricators and manufacturers across Ireland with their machinery needs. Whether you are looking for a new machine, a used machine, a replacement part or simply some advice, we are always happy to help. And sometimes, it is the small things that remind us why we enjoy what we do. Have a question about a machine, need a spare part, or just want some honest advice for your workshop?
